To make a long-story-short...... Our guys were fully prepared to bring their "A-Game" to the pitch today - and they didn't need to be asked.

Actually, prior to this particular match, very little was required by way of motivational comments, and the like... Unlike last week, our guys arrived in Winnipeg, ready and eager to play.

In the days leading-up to this match, last week's loss to the Highlanders wasn't really a topic of conversation... However, within the group, it was still easy to sense the

collective disappointment that resulted from that match... I'm certain that everyone knew - the only  way to remove that underlying feeling of 'gloom', was to produce a positive 80 minutes against the Saracens.

With this in mind, it was a very  positive week on the training pitch for us... Spirits were quite high - and it was easy to see that the guys were really looking forward to the match.

In our previous two outings, we had struggled to convert early pressure into points - so, one of our primary goals today was to score early... Our first Try coming at 8:00 minutes certainly provided us with a boost.... Another goal heading into this match was to create a lot of ball movement - and to add some width to our game. And the guys worked tremendously hard at maintaining this approach - for the entire match.... It was great to see.

At different points during the First-Half, I thought that we did tend to 'relax' a bit too much at times - and we certainly gave away some points to the Saracens... Everyone knew that we should have held the lead at Half-time, rather then settling for 17-17.... However, I was really pleased to see our guys re-gain & maintain their focus through the final 40 minutes.... And our three unanswered Trys in the Second-half were a great reward for their efforts.

A total of 6 Trys on the day, is out best scoring effort - thus far this season.

I thought that today's match was an excellent win for us.... Without doubt, it was one of our best outings of the 2009 season. And considering the parity within the Division-1 competition - it was a very important win, at this point in the season.
