It's matches like today's match - that really make me miss playing.

There were several motivating factors which helped to produce today's performance - however, I think the primary source of motivation for our guys was fairly straightforward -- Pride.

After the back-to-back victories in Winnipeg two weeks ago; everyone within the squad was feeling very positive and confident, regarding the type of rugby that they can play - both individually and collectively. And those two games certainly helped to erase some of the feelings of disappointment - which came with our 'sluggish' start to the 2009 season.

With this in mind, there was certainly a feeling of 'excitement' leading up to today's match. I think, everyone was very ready - and very eager - to produce another winning effort.

As well, our previous meeting with Sturgeon Creek (a 43-22 Loss on June 14th) was most certainly a real 'low point' for our guys, during the early weeks of the season. So, there was certainly a collective feeling of - 'needing to redeem ourselves' - in the face of the same opposition.... It wasn't a feeling of needing to 'get even', or anything similar - rather, we simply wanted to show the Rowdies that we are not the same team that they faced eight weeks ago.

Interestingly, during the training sessions leading up to this match, there was some discussion regarding the general need to score more 'Trys' - however, I don't think that any of our guys anticipated running-in 8 Trys in today's match... Up until today, our 6 Trys against the Saracens two weeks ago, represented our 'season high'. But, in many of our matches during the first half of the season - we did often fail 'to turn pressure into points'.

So, today's win leaves us with a more respectable record of 6W-4L; and it also represents that first time this season that we have won three consecutive matches.... However, that aside, all of our guys know that with only 4 league matches left to play on the schedule - the count-down to the Play-offs in now 'On'.

Next up for us, is the Winnipeg Wanderers on August 15th..
